Ivy’s Dad Dead of Covid

Ivy’s Dad Dead of Covid

We are sad to report that the father of LPPFusion CIO Ivy Karamitsos has died of Covid. Ljubodrag (Dragan) Zivkovic died in his sleep March 4 after a brief infection. He was 84. Dragan, a retired architect was living in Pancevo, Serbia and was an ardent core supporter...

Straight Filaments in the Sky Show Cosmic Connections

Straight Filaments in the Sky Show Cosmic Connections

Astronomers using the new ASKAP radio telescope announced on Jan. 15 the discovery of an arrow-straight plasma filament stretching across 2 degrees of the sky (four times the apparent size of the Moon in the sky). The filament, (fig. 1), which is 100 times longer than...

Wefunder Capital Campaign First Days

Wefunder Capital Campaign First Days

In the first three days of our new Wefunder crowdfunding campaign, we have raised over $80,000 from 64 investors. (Not all investments are visible on the site, due to routine delays in processing larger investments.) This is the first campaign where we have been able...

Wefunder Capital Campaign First Days

Wefunder Capital Campaign Starts

LPPFusion has initiated a third crowdfunding capital campaign through the Wefunder website. Our public start is 6:00 PM EST, today, Thursday, March 4. As in previous campaigns, this offering is open to all investors. But in contrast to earlier campaigns, there are no...

Assembling and Testing New Switches

Assembling and Testing New Switches

LPPFusion’s research team has now received all parts for the new switches. Research Scientist Syed Hassan has begun the task of assembling and testing the 24 switches. The first step, soldering together the base plates and bolts that will attach the switches to the...

Design Complete, Anode is Ordered

Design Complete, Anode is Ordered

LPPFusion Mechanical Engineer Rudy Fritsch, with the help of Chief Scientist Lerner and suggestions from Research Scientist Syed Hassan, has completed the redesign of the anode stalk, based on extensive thermal and mechanical simulations. The key to the redesign was...

Snubbing Out the Current Oscillations

Snubbing Out the Current Oscillations

New simulations have led to what appears to be the solution of the current oscillation problem that LPPFusion’s research team has been struggling to solve since mid-2019. These oscillations are the most likely cause of the disruption of current filaments that have in...

I think that the “Focus Fusion” approach of Lawrenceville Plasma Physics, Inc. should be funded as the science behind it is very interesting. Even if this approach does not succeed in producing fusion energy, the research will produce valuable technology in the near term.

review committee of four senior scientists, led by the former head of the US government fusion program, concluded that our effort deserved “a much higher level of investment … based on their considerable progress to date”

The experimental program that LPP plans to carry out has great potential to show how the plasma focus can be used to generate fusion energy and to demonstrate the feasibility of hydrogen-boron fusion. Read more…
